Madhus Restaurant

Madhus Restaurant

Review

Theme wise, this is a Punjabi restaurant with a Kenyan-twist. Madhu's catered at my wedding and I have been meaning to try their new restaurant at the Sheraton Skyline Hotel Heathrow since it opened!

The concept:
As you walk in - I loved the vast space and size of the restaurant. So many indian restaurants tend to pack the tables so close together, but this wasn't one of them! The black, red and gold decor was simplistic, elegant and plush. Immediately to your right you have the 2 Chivas inspired private rooms - nice if you want to host a dinner party with friends or family - separate to the rest of the diners.

Both the hostess and waiting staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and informed with their recommendations.

The food:
For starters we chose the Butterfly King Prawns and Robata New Zealand lamb chops - but be warned you only get one of each in a portion (much to my husband's disappointment.) For mains we went for the Murg Makhani (Chicken Tikka in a velvety-creamy tomato sauce) with some Garlic Naan - fresh from the Tandoor. For me personally, the starters were better than the mains.

Conclusion:
If you go expecting Madhu's Restaurant in Southall prices then think again - you pay hotel premiums and it is marketed as their fine dining restaurant. Depending on the occasion and if you are into Indian food it is worth it.
